I'm quite pleased with it Phillipp, hopefully it'll be adequate for some time yet as I'm trying to keep my paint collection managable.
Work has again been slow on the kit with being side tracked and correcting the mistakes I can't live with.
Added some PE and a bit of welding, replaced the grille bars added the open hatch detail and tried another method on the periscope glass using holographic wrapping: I've somehow lost the two rear tow hooks and am scratching my head as to what I should do. Any suggestions?

I still haven't found a solution to the missing hooks but I pimped up some of the PE I got, the catches for the front guards now look spring loaded with split rings and an angled pin and the two cable clamps should (hopefully) look threaded when painted:

Talking of PE.......
Whilst building up my soldering skills I quickly realised that a reliable system of clamping is needed, pegs are too powerful and the tips too deep for small parts, croc clips are too aggressive and act like heat sinks so I came up with these: .
I also came across a tip when using cyano glue to use a candle as a palette for when you are spot gluing, it 'appears' to stay in a liquid state for longer and is definitely easier to clear out once it sets.

Your additions and modifications are top notch. You're turning this old dog into a show stopper.

I'm not sure about a show stopper, there are other modellers who have done that (like Road to Beirut) https://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/ ... beirut.htm and I've added a few errors trying to correct the others. I could do so much more but choose not to out of my eagerness to get cracking on the paint. It would be kind of pointless in a way as there are now better alternatives straight out of the box which are better detailed, more accurate, quicker and actually cheaper to build but it's a terrific learning experience for me.

My plan is to use VMS medium chipping fluid (because that's what I have)with a 2 colour Syrian army scheme from the 6day war and weather it as appropriate, which tended to be fairly beaten up and untidy due to poor maintenance, so my question is:
What is the order of chipping for a 2 colour scheme?
1. Do I lay down the chipping fluid over the base green, apply the base desert colour, chip away, varnish, apply chipping fluid, lay the second colour and chip again?
2. Do I lay the chipping fluid over the base green, apply both desert colours and chip away then varnish?
...or....
3. Some other way?
