Trumpeter KV-1

This project is more of a rebuild than a build. I originally built this kit back in the days of Model Armour In fact, it was my first ever blog as well as my first attempt at a tank wreck. I was never really happy with the finish on it unfortunately and over time the model ended up relegated to the bottom of the display case, one step away from the bin.
Recently, in a moment of brilliance, or madness, I decided to strip it down and repaint it. Unlike a normal build, I didn't take many progress pics simply because I didn't have a clear idea of how it would finish up.
Anyway, I started with the tracks. Then I turned my attention to repainting the body using Ammo 4BO modulation set in combination with the Black and White technique. In retrospect, next time I would change up the colour and make it darker. You'll see I've also started on the weathering as well. I spent a bit of time on the weathering to be honest. I had fun adding layers of different effects and learned some good lessons. This is where I'm up to. I probably should put it on a base to give some context to the finish but I think I'll move on to another project.
I'll send more comprehensive pics to Philipp for inclusion in the gallery.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers,
Vincent
