I was working on the T-62 and thought about replacing the tool boxes for scratch built metal ones, the usual way is to apply copper wire to imitate the raised stamping which is okay but an alternative is to make a tool using the nib of an old Biro in a pin vice, it also gives you the option to produce relief pressings.
I've not used this yet but I'm sure the idea has potential:
