Interesting. Saw a doco a couple of years ago where they surveyed the sea off the beaches and located some of the DD tanks on the bottom. They were all well away from the courses they should have taken to the shore and the theory was that strong currents drove them across the beach. The divers altered course to compensate but this put the flimsy side walls into the swell and they flooded.
