French National Day

Post by Olivier Carneau »

Hi all,
today is our national day known as 14 juillet in French and Bastille Day in the English speaking community.
Every year different foreign countries are invited in our military parade as special guests for their links with France. This year we have paid a well deserved tribute to the Anzac soldiers who fought in France and more especially in the battle of the Somme in 1916.
It was really great to see those Australia and New Zealand national and regiment flags flying over the Champs Elysées led by a group of Maori warriors in traditional clothes.
Thank you for your help during these hard times!

I guess we all felt the same after the news from last night: Not again!

Words fail to describe this madness, the horror, the helplessness.

We all shall stand with the French nation and everyone else affectet by this act of barbarism. Let us hope that some day fear and hate will be things of the past.

Yes Philipp we still are a target for these extremists and we know this will last for a while.
But we are more resilient than our enemies think it.

It's a very sad world at the moment. A small percentage of humanity is having such a profoundly negatoive effect globally. Let this madness end soon...
