Fun fact: This class was the smallest of the "real" German submarine types. A Type VII C was twice as long.

Very nice Gary. The extra detailing will certainly pay off.

Like Woody I have been wanting to build a dock scene , but not with a monster like this. :D

Really great work on this. The extra scratch-building is taking it to a whole new level.

I am book marking this project, going to be very useful for my one. I am slowly collecting stuff for a dockside diorama. Italeri docksides (which are very nice), U-Models figures, a couple of AFV Club trucks, still looking for some buildings and a crane that will fit the scene.
Are you crazy. :?: :?:

This would work for a dock scene. Its discontinued on the Mina Art site, but you can still find them.

Hi Shawn! :D Quite possibly i am. But mot half as crazy as i will appear when i start my 1/35 Dora, and i bought decals for it just this week :?

That Workshop looks good. I wasn't looking for something with that depth. But looking at it, i think it could be cut down the roof centre line and made into a longer building. Hmmmm.....the thought wheels are turning :P

Which Dora kit did you get? Is it the SOAR ART kit?

If you don't want a full building just scratch one using cork. It really is not hard.

Yeah, that big Soar Art kit. It weighs in at around 25kg's  I had better start it soon if i want to finish it in my lifetime

Yeah, i should investigate scratchbuilding a building. I might be able to utilise some of the miniart kits that just have all the windows, doors and other building fixtures?

Having just seen this build in the flesh, the kit is a monster. A dockside scene with this as the centerpiece would need a room of its own for display!

A 1/35 Dora  :o

Did a crazy person say they had one, and was going to try and build it :?:

I always thought they were like vintage cars, you bought them, looked at them for a few years, then sold them on for massive profit 8-)

I don't know if this will be A HELP OR HINDRANCE :?

"Dora build"

You are the MAN

sorry Gary
