LUM-168 Camel

Post by Bryan Krueger »

I'll admit, I was slow to warming up to the Camel. It's such an awkward looking armored Lunar walker. There is very little that is cool looking but maybe that is why it ends up looking cool. ;D

Here is my build of the Hasegawa LUM-168 Camel "Operation Dynamo". This is the second release molded in silver plastic.

The silver plastic posed many problems. It was harder to glue and clean up because the flow marks made everything look like a seam that needed to be cleaned up. It took a couple of rounds of primer and sanding, especially the main body and legs. The fine hull panel lanes were rescribed and cleaned up.

I replaced the kit molded tubing with Wave springs and added a few small details.

Star Wars meets 2001 - MaK never ceases to amaze me :D

As someone who grew up with an unrepentant chainsmoker for a father I recognized immediately what the small oval tank in the back is based on

Always refreshing to see something not armor related, not that I can talk.

That's kinda what it does in the story line. Short bursts and hops. I few of the other designs hop too.
