Hi Adam
the 222 looks really good with all the stowage
The PE really does lift the 222, too
Will you prime before leaving?
Your 2 new projects look good, reminds me I have a T 34/85 on the back burner too
Time to finish the Pz II and back to the old builds
Looking good for paint

The PzII is looking good Steve, built the same kit earlier this year as an OOB to try OPR.
No time before I leave to prime, will give all the resin a good bath tomorrow then off to the US on ma lonesome. At least going on work related travel allows me to prowell US model shops!

That is an enviable pastime Adam
US prices always seem to be very keen, but the postage to the UK is a killer!
There are some excellent deals going this weekend too, but mostly for postal deals, sadly.
Have a great trip and happy hunting
I guess you are like John Everett, hotel modelling in the evenings rather than bar hopping
Have fun, and don't forget to share all your goodies when you return
Regards

Unfortunately not, I have no where near as much talent as John!

Adam
your work, scrubs up very nicely
I would be more than happy to achieve some of quality work you have shown us all here already
John is an exceptional scratch builder and a figure sculptor too, and along with the other master modelers we are fortunate to have on the site
it gives us both a standard to aim for, and the best of all, someone to give advise, not just a look and drool, but positive help when you ask
It puts PA head and shoulders above the rest, and though its a small community, it really does have some cracking modelers
Enjoy the trip, though I guess work may get in the way of the modeling
Regards

Well despite myself I was able to get a coat of primer on. I use Tamiya primer straight out of the rattle can, I've not noticed any better results by decanting it and using it in an airbrush, just lots of mess and fiddle factor. Everything got a good bath in detergent and a scrub with a soft brush first to remove, flux/oils/dust/chemicals etc.
Sitting in the airport lounge posting this, so no more active modelling for a week or two, just commenting on everyone else!

Morning Adam, or is it evening??
Primer is so graceful, it levels the playing field, ready for the big game
Safe flight and a happy landing

Stayed here for a week after the conference;
So little chance for modelling!
Been a rude shock to be back in NZ, but all caught up on work and jet lag so got out the 222 and laid down a bit of field grey. Have usually chipped using brush and sponge but thought I'd give the hair spray technique a go. Local hairdresser has mini travel cans of Tresemme so no major out lay if it goes to pot!
Used some XF60 Desert Yellow over the top, little bit of modulation and then into the chipping.
Bit heavy in areas but a lot of this will be covered by stowage. Most pics I have of German vehicles in the desert show heavy wear, I suppose in part due to the environment and in part due to the often field applied colour schemes.
Went to the local Militaria Show today. A guy had a collection of German, US and British Jerry Cans. All in original paint. I was surprised at the colour variation (would have taken a pic but no photos allowed) from Grey through yellow/tan to a pinkish brown. Grey or Red brown primer on all. Tried to replicate that this afternoon on the front stowage.
WIP, but coming along better than I thought

Adam - that's a cracking effort for a first -time try. You've nailed it. IMHO you've got the balance of chipping just right.
Really like the jerrycan variation in colour - neat
