Re: Dragon Kettenkrad
Alright I finally have some paint applied to this one. The sad thing is after looking back on things this is the first model I have airbrushed since Aug 2015, wow almost a year.
Time for some complaining- I decided to use DS tracks since they look better IMHO. I washed them, primer applied with Mr Surfacer 1500 before a coat of ammo paint was applied. These were all applied in very thin layers. When I placed them on the vehicle the paint started chipping away. They are now completely stripped of paint with out using anything to remove the paint.
I used Archer decals for the instrument panel.

Re: Dragon Kettenkrad
Looking great Shawn!
Especially the assorted tarps give it a more individual feel (as if you'd need to be "individual" with a KETTENKRAD ).
Best regards

Re: Dragon Kettenkrad
Thanks Raoul and Vincent.
I combination of the lack of motivation and real life events have slowed the build down.
Not to mention the slow figure painting process.
Anyways some progress. Camo on a 2nd figure, I believe this will be the last Camo pattern for this build. I don't think can do it again
I think I could have done a better job with the rain drops.
Plus I have painted two of the heads and I must say I am pretty happy with them. Still a few touch ups here and there but the faces are just about finished.

Re: Dragon Kettenkrad
Camo pattern is awesome, well worth putting the time in for that result Shawn.
I thoguht I'd already commented on the Kettenrad Nice paint job, did you find a solution to the DS tracks? I've only used them on Shermans and a Pz IV and they were fine.

Re: Dragon Kettenkrad
Shawn, I agree with Chris - Simply awesome on the Camo. The strich are always difficult. Technically they are really too small to portray at 1/35th. BUT if you don't the pattern looks a bit bare.
I've tried using Humbrol enamels, you caa get a thinner stripe and it's easier to remove if you mess up.
The tarps on the Kettenkrad looks ace as dose the paint job. We really are going to have to give you some therapy on this mojo-thing
Fab work

Great work Shawn
Love the heads, you are back on point
Did Rob do a camo SBS too?
It scares me and I have some to paint soon!
DS tracks seem to be a PITA, I used Car body primer spray on the only ones I have ever used
Very nice work Shawn

Re: Dragon Kettenkrad
What do you mean "could have done a better job with the rain drops"?!?!?! I have to use decals for this patterns and they still don't look even remotely as awesome!!
Best (vastly impressed) regards

Re: Dragon Kettenkrad
Thanks Chris and Rob
Raoul- The rain drops just look way to big IMHO, but they will have to do.
Steve- Just take your time painting the camo and you will do fine.
Well I passed one mile stone with the build. The heads are pretty much done. I'm sure I will find something I need to do but for now they are done.
As you will see I wanted some variation in the helmet colors.
