Me too, I just bought several of their sets.

Vincent- the figures look really good, for someone who has not painted any figures before. Much better than my early attempts.

Like Steve said, try a little glaze medium. I only use it for my shadow colors, but it should work with everything.

Could agitators help in the AK bottles?

You can get steel or glass balls but I actually got stainless steel hex nuts after researching the problem.

Why?

More surfaces to agitate, a sphere is too regular, a hex nut has lots of uneven surfaces to break up the thicker lumps of pigment.

Does AK have a glaze medium, like Vallejo?

it is great to thin out thick paint and use as a glaze medium too, it is made of the same formula as the paint, so it gives a better suspension of pigment when thinning,it is much better than just plain water.

Practice is the last part of the formula too, but your work is already getting there and certainly well on the way, I took a year to get this far, and am still learning.

Keep at it ;)

I used some Ammo ones I have Steve, though the hex shaped ones sound interesting. I'm not familiar with glazes so I've ordered some to see if they make a difference. Thanks for the tip. :)
I'll keep practicing.

Don't worry Shawn. As I said, I think the issue is with my application of the paint, rather than any problem with AK products. Blending the lines of colour using acrylic is the hardest part I found so the glaze tip should be helpful. Painting figures is a whole new world for me and there is so much to learn. ;)

I guess I'm finished :D

I did a very simple base, a less complicated one than I originally planned. I had a bit of trouble with the Fruil tracks but I put that down to my inexperience with them, or any metal tracks for that matter. I also had to order some more mud as the jar I had was all dried up. Speaking of mud, I ended up getting the new Vallejo Weathering Effects Russian Thick Mud product. I have to say it's very good. :) The mud itself is quite thick, easy to apply and dries with a slight sheen, just like mud. ;) I also added some of their Mud and Grass to the tracks just to see what its like and again, I think it's very impressive. The mud and grass is probably not approprate for a muddy scene like mine but I like it.

Anyway here are some pics. I'll send more to Gary for the Gallery.

This view is just to give you a look at the Vallejo mud and you can see a little of the mud and grass on the tracks

Ok, I'm done. Thanks for following along guys. :)

Well done Vincent :D

1st over the finishing line?

I guess a Gallery entry is the last piece?

Some shots to that glorious weathered interior too?

Looks like figure painting could be another skill set added to your weathering, rusting, tools, and bases :D

All round another great build :D

Very well done Vincent :D

Very nice Vincent. Man the figures are really looking good for someone who supposedly has not painted very many. My first several attempts were no where near this good.
