My apologies for the lack of progress, whenever you think everything is great life tends to hit you over the head with a big squeaky rubber mallet...
Anyhow, here's the state of affairs:
I did a little heavier sponge chipping than usual. My models usually turn out rather clean even if I intend the opposite, so I'll just try extra hard to make this one look as worn as possbile

Masking fluid has some advantages, but it tends to pull off small parts if you're not extra careful...
