Right, so the back up to the back up Not an indirect fire weapon but as we have a Marder I figure this counts too



I got the lions share of this done while at a show so there aren't any in progress pics up to this point. Most of the big bits arre together already.



AFV Club made a mistake when tooling this kit, they replaced the middle and rear sections of the track guards to fit the superstructure but left the original front sections. These have moulded on blast shields which were only fitted to gun tanks. I origanally planned to use resin replacements from Inside the Armour but when it came to fitting them I decided that I didn't like them so I got these instead.



Hopefully I'll actually finish this one

Technically the Marder is part of the 38t build But yeah, it doesn't really matter, any SPG is fine by me.

Nice choice - It can only go better from here The fender issue has kept me from getting one of these so far so I'm interested in your solution to that

I've been adding the smaller details the last few days, things like stretch sprue welds to the applique armour bolts and the air intake lifting lugs. The correct pattern fire extinguishers are included in the kit on the generic sprue from the Valentine kit which is a nice bonus although AFV Club don't actually include them in the instructions. I also gave the panniers a coat of Mr Surfacers just to give them some texture. It's the first time I've tried it so I'm curious what it will look like under paint. Almost all photos of carriers with their guns still fitted have the early pattern tracks so I've added the correct spare links and started assembling the track runs.



I've also made a start on the track guards.



Happy to get this done without any problems, it's been a long time since I've soldered anything and this is a pretty complex piece.

Lookin' good Chris, a very unusual subject with a very interesting profile.

Thanks for the interest Has been slow progress on the soldering mainly due to being tired from lack of sleep



I might need to put this to one side so I can get other projects finished in time for our show.

Impressive work on these fenders...are they as difficult to assemble as they look?

Folding the support ribs is quite fiddly and then adding them without unsoldering anything already attached is a bit of an art but I'm getting quicker
