This one also finished off this week. This kit was about doing a figure and working with AK products to see if I could build a base.

Summary -

Vulcan Models Vickers Mk VIB (North Africa) - Nice kit. Tracks are a bit rubbish and could be replaced. The PE offering is nice and goes together well. There were a few fit issues but nothing that wasn't easily corrected. The suspension is nice but flimsy and improved with a bit of "reinforcing". Decals are a bit thick but responded well to setting solution.

AK Interactive Caunter paint set - Went on well, would use again.

AK Interactive Diorama sets - Went on well and generally did what they claimed. Still need painting as the finish is a bit "uniform". A useful addition to the armoury.

Just been through your blog. This kit looks nice, although it did give you a run for your money! Most of the detail looks quite sharp

You did an alright job fighting with those tiny tracks and making them a success!

Fantastic finish with the paint job and weathering

Nice to see the figure in the turret to give a sense of the dimensions of this little tank

It looks like a right little bugger to handle. Very small but a high centre of gravity and it could reach speeds of nearly 60km/h. Definitely would be some hairy moments for a crew learning the ropes.

I know what that standing on its nose under heavy braking feels like. An M113AS4 in a full emergency stop does pretty much the same thing. You are literally pulling up on the drives sprockets. Not something i make a habit of on road tests as i don't like driving the drive sprockets into the ground. But man you pull up damn quick!!!

Uh oh

We used to do the same in the Scorpions, they would go nose low but being a low c of g would tend to just "drift"!

I'd love to get a side on of the 113 doing an emergency brake to look at the angle and the position of the suspension arms.
