Testor Landrover 859

Post by Mark Aldrich »

Will be attempting to take the ZPU-1 out of the Meng Pick up and mounting it in the bed of this. I have a set of Hussar civilian looking wheels to hopefully give it a more Lebanese faction look.

Another potentially awesome project there Mark! :D

Also the old Italeri landrover with the Testors designator is a cool retro item all by itself ;) !

Best regards

Thanks Raoul,
Thought about using the HobbyBoss kit but it has been hacked up way to much. Might have some pictures to add this weekend as tonight is build night. We'll see. This one may end of being canned. After assembling the ZPU tripod, I realized it is much too wide for the bed of the landrover. Would be easy to overcome by adding some Styrene I-beam and be good. However, I noticed that the cab and bed do not line up. After carefully removing the bed, I can't seem to find the cause of the misalignment. Not sure how to fix this one.

During build night last night I realized that whatever I did during assembly or the kit itself, I cannot fix the large gap between the cab and bed. So it will be offered up to my club as a parts kit this evening.

Awww :(

Both Revell and Italeri did recent reissues of this kit, so you might find a cheap replacement somewhere?

That's a shame Mark, I was looking forward to seeing it come together.

Cheers,

I was kind of let down. I have another and I may break it out but not knowing what caused the issue I am slightly hesitant. I can't believe no one else has considered doing one as it is such a well used vehicle.
