Re: GAZ-69 Anti-tank missile carrier “Baby Carriage”
Laid down a bit of paint today for the interior. Was using my old Delta airbrush but noticed it was spitting more than usual. Disassembled to clean and promptly lost a couple of small springs.
Was forced to open the Iwata my wife bought me 18mths ago (I have been too scared to use it, it is soooo pretty, my precious.....) and loaded it up.
O...M...G I will never look back, it is sooooo good My old airbrush used to require 30-40 PSI to work and would spit and splatter, I had this down to 8 PSI and it was perfect. Yet again, good quality tools are worth the money
Will post some pics when I have a bit more to show for it.

Yup, it is with dread that I approach the stage of final assembly and am waiting for all of your warnings to come true!

Re: GAZ-69 Anti-tank missile carrier “Baby Carriage”
I am facing a lot of the issues that Mark pointed out in his build review. I've done most of the painting and have pushed ahead with final assembly.
The dash comes up nice with the decals provided. They are a bit thick but settled down with some MicroSol and Set. I've added a drop of Krystal Kleer over each to seal them and represent glass. The iPhone camera doesn't really do it justice.
The tolerances in the kit are pretty tight which is leading to some issues. The lack of locating pins is also a pain and the placement of some parts is bit trial and error. This is just a sample of the level of "clampage" that has been required.
This is where I am at present. The dashboard and radiator are not on yet, similar to Mark I'm having some issues in this area, the severity of which may mean I have to take the engine out and close the bonnet
I'm frustrated enough with this build I might shelve it for a while.....

Looks very nice from here Adam! I hope you can overcome all the little problems, would be a shame to abandon it at this stage...

Re: GAZ-69 Anti-tank missile carrier “Baby Carriage”
With completion of a couple of projects I got back into this today.
I forgot how much of an uphill battle it is. I’ve glued the roof and windshield in place to complete the cab and have had to clamp the hell out of everything again to get it all to line up.
Very close to binning the whole thing

Re: GAZ-69 Anti-tank missile carrier “Baby Carriage”
Got to here so far...
Gloss coat is on and decals are being applied. The wheels are just dry fitted at the moment, but surprisingly, despite all the clamping, they all rest on the ground!
Have bit the bullet and am working on the canopy at the back. This will be in the "firing" or "stowed" position. Most pics show this canopy missing or just the frame without the tarp. I've used the tissue-paper-white-glue approach to putting a tarp remnant on the frame to give it a bit of flavour!

Looking really nice! I can imagine what a struggle you've had with such a flimsy vehicle...
