Hi all,
pending the arrival of the paints needed to finish my Rosomak, I'll start this version of the German IFV. The Revell kit will be supplemented with the very nice PSM upgrade set which allows to depict the troop hatches open and gives a nicer turret.







This should be a strictly out of the 2 boxes build

Being stationed in Germany for over 7 years I really love the Marder. Every year the 11 ACR had open house at Camp Wollbach, the German Army sent up a Marder and Leopard. Always a fun time!

You're right Mark, the Marder is a very interesting and impressive vehicle.

Hopefully I've made the hardest part of the upgrade: cutting out the hatches and the vision blocks in order to use the resin replacement parts.
Unlike what PSM tells you to do, I didn't glue the large part with the 3 hatches in the troop compartment. If you do so you won't be able to add the small grilles behind the rear vision blocks. I just put the part for the photos.

Another interesting build Olivier and the resin parts look very nice too.

Interested to know what you think of the Revell kit Olivier. I’ve got the Tamiya one in the stash but it gets a bit of a mixed review on line.

The Revell kit is not perfect but it builds easily. It depicts the late version of the vehicle. All the hatches are molded solid.
The Tamiya kit is an early one suitable for a late 70s early 80s time-frame. The good point for this kit is that you get the engine with a separate hatch.
None of them has any interior.

Now that it's being phased out, couldn't they (wherein "they" is anyone, though the more recent Asian ones are more likely than most...) just make a new kit?... I mean no risk of it having to be modified anymore now...

getting a Marder with an interior would be a big surprise. I fear noone will take the risk though now the Puma is already available in plastic.

I made some progress on the Marder. I glued the small grilles around the vision blocks. Unlike what the instructions tell you to do, DO NOT glue the resin parts with the hatces holes prior to gluing the grilles to the rear vision blocks section. You can't glue the grilles from outside.

PSM instructions are a bit challenging as well as their PE parts which come with no bending instructions and nearly no bending marks too. However they are a great improvement over the kit molded parts.





Now the Marder will have to wait for me to paint the Rosomak as I finally got my Hataka Polish army colors.

Some nasty gaps on the Rosomak hull needed to be filled before I start painting the vehicle so I resume working on the Marder. I glued more resin, more PE parts and at last some plastic
