Rogue One Tie Striker - Bandai 1/72

Hi chaps,

Is there such a thing as too many Tie Fighters?

I picked up this Bandai 1/72 Tie Striker from Rogue One kit a couple of weeks ago second hand from a local modeler. Now, seeing as there is a sci-fi group build happening, i thought we better balance out the do-gooding rebels (you know who you are) and all their X-Wings with something from the Imperial dark side.




So i guess i should eneter a group build with this? May the force be with me!

It's a fantastic kit! I built one a couple of years ago. With a little careful trimming, you can leave the frames off so it is easier to paint the black panels without resorting to a bunch of masking.

Or if you enjoy that stuff, Green Strawberry makes a vinyl die cut mask set for this. Highly recommended just for the canopy masks.

Ok, some progress on this little kit. Actually it is not that little. The length of the wings measure just over 24cm.

So a few photos to show off the simplicity of this kit and how it goes together. Instructions are all in Japanese, but the illustrations and parts identification are very good, so there really is no issue.

A reasonably nice pilot figure. A thin coat of matt black to show some detail. Tiny little fella, and you won't see much of the pilot once cocooned inside the Striker.


Finished pilot fixed in place with cockpit floor, seat and control column. Just shades of black and grey with a wash and dry brushing. Helmet isignia are small decals supplied. I did glue these parts just to make sure they never came loose. I don't think they ever would.


Back wall section of the cockpit. Again shades of grey with wash and dry brushing. Decals are supplied for cockpit display monitors.

Joined together and the pilot is locked away forever.
