Made a start this week, fenders are off and Voyager PE ones on.

Good start. I am never confident with that type of stiffeners.
Enjoy the build.

They were real fiddly. Some are a bit bent, but considering the originals were thin sheet metal I assume they got knocked around. :D

Nice work Adam! These fenders are a challenge, even in plastic

Managed to get the turret finished, just need a bit more work on the cast texture (AK acrylic paste).

I haven’t used all the Voyager PE, there is just too much!

The .50 is next, the Verlinden set has a resin one in it but the barrel is bent and the casting is not great, the Tamiya plastic one is better so I’ll use it and the Voyager bits.

The Verlinden set is certainly showing its age, the details are a bit soft. The crew figures are OK, the heads are nice, but the commander and loader figure are the same casting in the same pose. I think I’ll use the Tamiya bodies and the Verlinden heads.

Coming along nicely Adam. Tamiya figures are actually not that bad ;)

Did you find the AK paste easy to use Adam? I'm thinking of getting some. :)

I’ve used it on two projects now (both shermans) and have had no issues. Behaves very much like the old Tamiya putty/thin glue mix but dries faster and clean up is easier. If you happen to get it somewhere you don’t want it a damp brush will remove it. I haven’t tried heavy cast texture with it like on a Russian turret, but for the Sherman’s it has worked well.
