Lots of progress this week. Voyager really know how to make fiddly PE! I’ve done the usual and only replaced what could be better. Tamiya was a bit soft on the detail on this one so have had to replace a bunch of grab handles that were absent as well as the levers on all of the filler ports.

The .50 is a kit in itself, the ammo can is fully functional as is the feed system.

The Fruiel tracks come as straight links and then some with angled end connectors for going around the drive sprocket, return roller etc. I need to leave the running gear off to paint it but need it on to set up the track. Thinking of attaching it with white glue/PVA so I can pop it off later.

Great job on this bling bling Sherman :lol:

For the running gear, blu tac is the perfect solution.

Excellent job on the etch! This is the sole reason I never finished my one and only IDF Sherman :lol: :lol: :lol:

The build phase is finished (mostly....). Realized I had stocked up on Archer transfers a few years back so added a few cast numbers and the like.

Slowly working on the Fruil tracks, but they are the most complicated I have built. Each link needs two pins, there are separate links for idlers and sprockets and each guide horn needs to be glued on separate.

Stowage also needs to be tackled, so far it’s a mix of Verlinden, Black Dog and scratch built. I’ll tie it all together with milliput tarps and the like.

Nice looking beast. I feel your pain about the Friul tracks. I'm sure you'll win the fight :D

Got one run done, working on the other!

If anyone else is building the Fruil Sherman T80 pattern tracks, for the Tamiya M51, then the number of links should be;

So they will be positioned correctly on the model I have completed the run so it joins in the middle at the bottom, this is easy to identify and means the links with the angled end connectors will be around the idler, drive sprocket etc.

THe whole build is very impressive. That PE on the 50 cal must have been a nightmare.

Slow progress over the last month, base coat on, base coat off, better base coat reapplied, washes and the start of weathering....

Really nice base for the weathering.
