A little update

Primer!!

Looks like a dead Dalek!

The building is having double glazing fitted LOL

I shall be recreating a plain Dunkelgelb NSKK training vehicle using a new Mr Hobby Dunkelgelb set and thinner as its not a strictly water based acrylic paint set.

Its something like Tamiya I am led to believe?

Hopefully some AB time soon as we are in the middle of a 48 hour heatwave, Saturday was 5 C with snow and hail flurries, today will be 20+ then back to cold and winter showers over Easter in 3 days!

Weird weather!!

More soon

Regards

It's getting somewhere :D

No idea how the Mr Hobby colours behave, I'll be looking forward to hear your opinion on them! So far Tamiya has been the gold standard for me, or maybe I'm just too lazy to adjust to different brands

I actually use a small amount of the leveling thinner in Ammo and AK paints as well.

Thanks for the input Philipp, Shawn

Its been a long period of below zero C temperatures here in the UK, so no AB work in the garage just yet!

I have a bottle of the self levelling thinner for the Mr Hobby Dunkelgelb modulation set, and will give them a go as soon as the garage is habitable!

The overall scheme will be modulation with very light weathering as its a training tank and as such would most likely be kept in good order, by all the new trainees who needed some sort of punishment for rule breaking.

""Get that tank washed and polished""

More soon once the weather warms up!

Morning Vincent

1/2 way through modulation!

I have done the 1st 2 colours but the weather went from 18C to -1c in 24 hours so the garage and AB have been out of bounds for the past 3 days.

I have been doing some 1:1 painting in the bathroom to keep Anna happy with some little progress on the house refreshing.

Hopefully some progress this weekend though I have my 2nd jab on Sunday so I might be a little under the weather for a few days.

The Mr Hobby Dunkelgelb modulation set with levelling thinner is my first venture into none water based pure acrylics and they sprayed beautifully even through the 0.15 H&S needle set, something I have never been able to do successfully with acrylics.

More soon?

Regards

Its been too long!

Update Shawn

After a longer period of too cold, too wet, now its too hot

I have broken the 0.15 AB nozzle and then found the air tank on the compressor has rusted through from the inside

Who would have guessed it, the instructions never said to depressurise the tank after each use, as compressed air is moisture rich!!!

Some little progress before everything broke!

New ones are in the post

More as soon as the new compressor arrives,

I might even finish this one too!

It is the end of June 2021?
