Definitively drowning in sand, I just need to check on sand wave photos, choose a wind direction and dry off some sand to fill the hole once the T-55 has been interred.
As for the rust effect Adam, a basic dark brown base coat then pigments for texture and a new product I have seen on You Tube which gives really great results.
Dirty down rust effects
Next will be getting the AB to work after a long rest with the record breaking 40.2 C recent weather.
So, schedule of works
1st, a coat of paint on the T-55, then texture with pigments
Coat the base in lightweight filler mixed with sand to create the desert base
Dry more sand to fill the hole once the T-55 has been painted
Hope it all comes together reasonably quickly
