Thank you Steve! I haven't properly looked at the figure's heads yet, but I guess they should be usable. From what I've seen, the average Yemeni looks less African and more like all the other people on the Arabian peninsula. As for the uniforms, judging from the one photo I have these fellas should be a good reference.
Took me long enough, but here's finally some progress...still lacking one track, but basically I'm done with the assembly. I've used the kit's link&lenght tracks, mostly out of curiosity how well they go together. Not great, not terrible, as the old Soviet saying goes
On the front I've tried to replicate the slightly askew piece of spare track, holding on for dear life with a single remaining bolt:
Since the leftover track links from the kit have pin marks, I used some of the T-34 track links that come as a bonus with every single Border Panzer IV kit. The small white bits are brackets for the track tensioning tool. They weren't around on WW2-era SU-100s, so Zvezda isn't to blame for omitting them.

Making good progress Philipp
The reference seems to be of the same period as the one I used for the T34/85.
All the Russian armour seems to be crewed with Africans, possibly Boko Haram?
It might be a little early for them though?
They seem to originate from around the 2000's
As nothing is going to be "new" as Yeomen seems to have been in a Civil War since the 60's?
Enjoy the painting and the figures
I am with the Paras on the desk and getting painted.
Regards
Steve H

Looking good so far Philipp.
I like the front track hanging askew. It's those little details that make a model interesting.

I'm really liking your progress on this SU-100. Nice use of AM parts to make a unique looking vehicle. My LHS has the Zvezda SU-100 but I keep hoping MiniArt makes one.

Re: SU-100, Yemen 2015
Thanks gents Didn't get anything done since thanks to more pressing matters, but I'll finish the other track, so I can paint it together with said pressing matters
I'm hoping for a Miniart kit too! Seems like they have resumed production now, so it's probably only a matter of time. The Zvezda kit is nice, but no tax money from me for Russia while this war lasts and Vlad the Invader remains in power.

Thank you Shawn!
Base coat is on, of course with the three-tone desert camo on top it won't be seen much except for lots and lots of paint chips.
I think using Vallejo putty for the cast texture came out reasonably well:
I'm afraid I won't make it over the finish line this year. I want to take my time with the weathering of this battered veteran, and ruhsing things to meet the deadline won't help. In addition I've not yet fully recovered from that annoying sinusitis of mine and the paint vapours gave me a two day coughing fit, despite having the spray booth turned on and plenty of ventilation otherwise...
