I started this over the weekend. I was looking for something different and it sort of drew me in.

It's a great kit with good fit and terrific detail. There are so many options in the instructions that I couldn't work out which was the right one so I just picked some and kept going. :? I apologize to the Shermaholics out there if I got anything wrong. I added some casting effect with Mr. Surfacer 500 to the hull front and also the turret. :)

This is where I am up to. Some of the smaller details I've left off until the painting is done. The wheels and upper hull are just dry-fitted at this stage.

If you look closely you'll get an idea of what I have planned. ;)

Should have it primed and ready for paint this coming weekend.......if I can wait that long

Ooohhh, nice :D

I presume you're going for a Noth Africa setting? Surprisingly enough, some of these soldiered on until the very end, one or two even made it as far as Nuremberg.

Ohhh Vincent

A burned out wreck, with your stunning rusting effects :?: 8-) :D

That sounds superb, but I might be wrong :?

Nice quick build and cleanly assembled too :D

when will you put us out of our misery :?:

Good going though Vincent ;)

Thanks Philipp. I'm not sure yet. :? I just wanted to do a green Sherman with white stars but finding references for the DV and where it served nearly drove me crazy. In the end I just started it.
Nice to know a couple lasted that long.

Hi Steve,

Yes, you guessed right, that's the plan. :) I haven't built a Sherman before and this one went together really easily. Hopefully the rest of it goes smoothly too. ;)
