Re: Latest additions
Technically not a "latest" acquisition since I bought this print last year in Sainte-Mere-Eglise....but now I have a proper frame for it, and more importantly, free space on a wall to put it up
(the weird lines are random reflections)

Oh wow that looks really nice! Love great art work on the wall.
I have a couple of really nice Jim Dietz prints that I have. Finally got one framed a couple of years ago. I still need to get the other done. I should stop buying kits and do it!

Nice picture Philipp!
I've mostly been good on the purchase front while I've not been building, but I have slipped a bit in the past month or so and these bits are now resting in the stash...

Re: Latest additions
After all the birthday goodies amassed over a few weeks, I really thought I didn't NEED anything else
Never ever doubt the force of retail addiction
I have a set of the scale 75 face painting set as a kick starter to getting back on the figure/face painting "horse"
that was a year ago, the paint is really good stuff, super matt and very thick and well pigmented.
There are several videos showing how best to use the paint, they generally retail, even through E-bay at £25 inc. P&P
So, I fell over these and bought them, all for £85 inc.P&P,
8 sets of Scale 75 paints and an Andrea field grey set too, which is still sealed as is one of the scale 75.
Hope to paint again soon

Re: Latest additions
A couple things that somehow ended up with me....
Frankfurt's last hobby shop is closing....again...and this Panzer IV was on sale. And since it contains the unspeakable horror called DS tracks, I also got a replacement....
And another one....no excuse other than the overwhelming urge to reward myself with some plastic:
Quite a strange box format....not very large, but absurdly tall:

Few things in from BNA
Hoping the DVD on figure painting will solve some issues I'm having, ie making the figures not look like zombies! Doing a winter scheme for the "back to the roots" GB and the DVD was on special.
More Hornet heads to frustrate me, and lots of copper wire from Eurekka XXL that was on special. The Middle East profile guide has some great variants and field mod vehicles in it that will be good inspiration.

Great DVD's Adam
I have them too, and regularly watch them to get inspiration
The figure painting DVD from Oliver Kovacs is good, but does feel a little slow at times when you get to the 7th highlight or shade,
But it is the principles that matter and can be clearly seen and copied.
A wise modeler, once told me, to paint 12 heads and the 13th will be great, wise words indeed, and a sound principle of practice, practice, practice
The eyes are the most important part to avoid the "zombie" look, part the pun
Have the eyes looking fully left, right, up or down, when practicing, does help to reduce the wide eyed, white look and keep lining them in with shade and highlights until they look right.
I know we modelers are probably not selfy obsessed, but look in the mirror when painting faces, and you will clearly see, highlights, shades, and for the older ones, lines and creases.
Having done the preaching, I really do need to get some practice
Great haul and yes Vincent, AB work soon
