Thanks Chris! I should have taken more pictures of that Greyhound in Munster
Still no metal barrel thanks to the delivery personell going on strike today. Maybe I'll get at least the other figures assembled that will go with it.

Looks like you don't need one if the Munster photo is anything to go byPhilipp Gross wrote:Still no metal barrel thanks to the delivery personell going on strike today.

Re: Panzerspähwagen M8(a)
Finally got my metal barrel... A little more and I would have used one for the Pak 36
Here's what we start with:
After short but messy surgery:
And finally, all in place:
I also added a turned M1919 barrel, just like the 37mm from RB Model.

Re: Panzerspähwagen M8(a)
Woohoo! Progress!
I bought these figures a while ago...usually it's best to grab each and any Tristar kit you can get your hands on, when it's gone you'll never know when you get another chance.
And here's the result:
The overall quality is outstanding - fine, sharp details, 95% perfect fit, almost no mould seams. The only issue is the hardness of the plastic....or is it some sort of synthetic Mithril, forged in the fires of Mount Doom by the proud dwarves of Middle-Earth? I had to use a wire cutter to get the larger parts off the sprue.
That being said, it's the long Easter weekend here in Germany, so I hope to make some serious progress within the next few days.
(Having said that, life will now throw everything it's got at me to prevent that....)

Good thing the figures are well constructed. Attempting to rescribe badly moulded lines would have been schwer.

Re: Panzerspähwagen M8(a)
I'm not at that point where I'd buy a diamond-tipped CNC cutter to do that
However, I'm at the point where paint gets involved, just a lot of white for a start:
I couldn't find any good wartime photos of the interior, so I'm a little confused right now with the proper choice of colours. If we believe this photo, everything from the turret ring downwards was kept white. That sounds just impractical enough to be believable for a US Army vehicle
Any ideas?
